Mavericks vs Yosemite - Icons Design Comparison

With an announcement of Yosemite, Mac OS X has changed in many ways. The newest desktop operating system from Apple has gained a lot of new features, but the first thing users will notice about the Yosemite is its reimagined design.

Translucency, streamlined toolbars, changed controls and notification center are only few of many things that changed in new OS. One of the most important parts of new user interface is a cleaner, simplified and more stylish Dock with completely resigned icons. In this post, I want to compare the design of new icons in OS X Yosemite with the design of icons we got used to in OS X Mavericks.

Take a look at side-by-side comparison and tell us what design do you prefer. OS X Mavericks icons are on the left (first on mobile) and OS X Yosemite icons are on the right (second on mobile).
