We talk a lot about sharing files using traditional cloud based services like Dropbox or Google Drive. Most of the people enjoy the convenience of using cloud services, but there are always users who have security issues. Today, we want to share with these users a service called BitTorrent Sync, that lets securely share large files without involvement of the 'cloud'.

BitTorrent Sync provides the Dropbox-like functionality without actually storing the data on servers by using the advanced peer-to-peer technology. In addition to that, Sync does not require users to have an account, it has no limits for file size and transfer speeds.

BitTorrent markets the service as the perfect way to share large collections of photos with family members or friends, send huge video files between co-workers, back up the photos from mobile devices to computer, etc.

One of the biggest advantages of Sync is its security. BitTorrent ensures that the users are always controlling the process of sharing the files, sending the data directly from one device to another via an encrypted and secured connection, without any involvement of 3rd party servers.
