Apple Makes Its Best-selling iOS Apps Free
During the last week's press conference in Cupertino, Apple announced the new iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, which of course made all the headlines, but there was one another important announcement made that day. Apple announced that from now on, every new iOS device will get five best-selling Apple-made iOS apps for free.
These five apps are Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iPhoto and iMovie. For unknown reasons, Apple didn't include GarageBand in this lineup of iOS apps, but even without it, this is very generous move by Cupertino company.
Since these five apps are already the best-selling mobile productivity apps on App Store (and, according to Apple, on any mobile platform), chances are very high that the most of existing customers already have these apps installed on their iOS devices. But it will be a huge plus for the new iOS users, who will be able to save a total of $45 for purchasing these apps, that are 'a key advantage of customer's productivity' on mobile devices.
In the past few month, Apple clearly showed that they are very serious about competing with other office solutions from Microsoft, Google and other rivals. In addition to iOS apps, Apple are testing its new iWork for iCloud, and is expected to unveil the updated versions of iWork and iLife suites for Mac OS X.
